Oh man, I remember being you. I thought the “is controller buyer guide” thing was gonna be life-changing. I read through a few, even printed one out (why?? my printer is still sitting on the floor with a pile of laundry on it, I dunno where my life is going).
So I ordered a generic controller that the guide kept hyping. It arrived. Immediately annoyed because the buttons were so close together? My fingers aren’t huge but they’d hit two at once. I spent an afternoon trying to adjust settings, but honestly I think I just used it wrong. There’s a mode button I still don’t understand what it does.
The one thing that surprised me (but it’s not a big deal) was the battery life. It lasted way longer than I expected. But I also only played for like 20 minutes at a time so… maybe that’s why?
Eventually I dug out my old wired controller from a drawer. The one that came with the console, covered in dust but still works. And you know what? That thing is fine. The new one is now gathering dust next to the printer. I don’t know if the guide was actually useful or if I just wanted to buy something new. Probably the latter.
Moral of the story: before you dive into guides, try what you already have. Might save you and a hreadache (see I can’t even type). Good luck
